2019 has been great so far. We are three months down the year and there have been quite a few good films starting from Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike
to Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy to Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla.
Akshay Kumar’s latest release Kesari too managed to impress the audience to quite an extent.
However, looking forward, although there are many more films like Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Kalank, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Bharat, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra that are being highly anticipated this year but alas,
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma’s fans have nothing much to rejoice considering the actors have not one single release in the coming months..
The reason why Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma have no films this year is not because they haven’t been offered any…it’s because their priorities are different at this point in time.
Let’s go one by one and you’ll know why the above mentioned actors have kept themselves away from the theaters this year.
After Zero, SRK had confirmed that he’s taking up Rakesh Sharma biopic Saare Jahan Se Accha as his next film.
Padmaavat was Deepika’s last release (January 2018) after which, she had dedicated her entire year to plan her wedding with Ranveer Singh.
However, while everyone expected her to return to the big screen in 2019,
Deepika has taken up a rather demanding film playing an acid-attack survivor in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak.
Similar to Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan too is rather disappointed with his last release Thugs Of Hindostan which he thought would be one of his best films.
So after being in a dilemma for a good three months on whether to take up his most ambitious film Mahabharata or something else,
Aamir finally zeroed down on the official adaptation of Hollywood film, Forrest Gump titled Lal Singh Chaddha, releasing next year.
Anushka had 3 releases in 2018 starting from Pari, Sui Dhaaga to Zero co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
However, the same doesn’t seem to be the case with her plan for 2019. As of now, Anushka has finalised no film post Zero.
Now is it a conscious decision to take a break from the movies, enjoy her time travelling with her husband, rooting for him at the stands and do all that she missed doing soon after getting married in 2017!
