The Second day of Bharath Bandh continued across various parts of the country. Some shops & other businesses continued to operate their daily works notwithstanding the bandh. The Central Trade Unions had called for a 48-hour long strike to force the Central Government to accept their 10-point charter demands and to stop the “anti-worker” policies of the present NDA Government.
Around 10 Trade Unions have pledged their support for the bandh & around 20 crore workers are expected to participate in Bharath Bandh. Meanwhile, in Pondicherry which is a stronghold of congress, CPGEA started their protest from Kamban Kalai Arangam, Pondicherry and threatened to protest outside the Legislative Assembly. They were later escorted by the police.
