Suggesting measures to curb population growth, yoga guru Ramdev has said that third or higher children should be denied voting rights and other government services.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the yoga guru further opined that the country’s population should not cross 150 crore in the next 50 years.
“India’s population should not be more than 150 crores in the next 50 years as we are not prepared or ready to bear more than that.
“This is only possible when the government makes a law that third child would not be allowed to vote, neither contest election nor he/she enjoys any type of privileges and facilities given by the government,” Ramdev said while addressing a press conference.
He further said that if such a law is enacted then people will not give birth to more children, “no matter which religion they belong to.”
He also batted for a pan-India ban on manufacturing, sale, and purchase of liquor.
Ramdev also pressed for a country-wide ban on liquor while asking why India can’t ban alcohol when Islamic countries can.
He also demanded a complete ban on cow-slaughter and said that it is the only way out to reduce the conflict between cow smugglers and “gau rakshak” (cow protectors).
