Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul faced a massive backlash after their Koffee with Karan episode was aired and were slammed for their ‘sexist and misogynistic’ comments on the chat show.
Just when it looked like the trouble for the duo would fade away, the case against them has been registered in Jodhpur police station. Along with the duo, Karan Johar also has his name in the case.
Pandya and Rahul faced a lot of backlash on social media for the comments made by them on the chat show, which is famous for sparking controversy.
Following the backlash, BCCI had suspended the duo!However, their suspensions were lifted on January 24 pending appointment of an ombudsman.
An FIR has been registered against cricketers Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul and filmmaker Karan Johar for their controversial remarks against women on the celebrity chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
The case has been registered by Dr Meghwal at a police station in Luni in Jodhpur under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Pandya, who shared the couch with Rahul on the latest episode of Karan Johar’s show, bragged about not asking the names of women at parties and how he watched them move on the dance floor.
Later, Pandya took to social media and apologised for the remarks saying he “may have got a bit carried away with the nature of the show”.
The extent of the backlash has been such that even the broadcaster Star TV, has removed the episode from its online streaming platform, Hotstar.
Pandya is currently in New Zealand playing for India in the T20I series while Rahul is a part of the India A squad that will take on England Lions in an unofficial Test match.
