Conducting Lok Sabha elections in Madurai on 17th will be chaotic

As the Lok Sabha elections are to be held on April 18, a case has been filed against in the Madras High Court Madurai branch.

Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple Chithirai festival celebration begins on April 7.

On 15th of April Meenakshi Amman Temple Pattabishekam, on 16th Meenakshi Amman Thik Vijayam,

on 17th Meenakshi Amman and Sundareswarar Thiru Kalyanam are happening as usual.

The main event of the festival Therottam is on April 18th. But the Lok Sabha elections are to be held on the day of the Therottam.

It is reported that there will be difficulty in conducting elections in Madurai as people from many districts will arrive Madurai for the Chithirai Therottam.

TN Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo has ordered the Madurai district collector to file the details of the Chithirai festival today.

Parthasarathy filed a petition in the Madurai branch of the Madras High Court seeking the postponement of the Lok Sabha elections in Madurai.

The court ordered to file this case as a court petition and informed that the case will be heard tomorrow.

All the parties including AIADMK and DMK have been requested to Madurai Collector Natarajan demanding election postpone.

A discussion was held today by district collector Natarajan and police commissioner Davidson Devasiravadam.

Following the announcement of the election date, the election rules in Madurai came into effect.

It is also planned to bring additional military force because it is difficult to provide protection if the election is held in Madurai.

The Collector told the media that the election commission should decide on the question of whether the election will be held on April 18.
