Forest fire in TN burns out over 30 acres of trees!

For almost a week, the fire and rescue department has been struggling to control the forest fire in five districts in TN

The forest fire which burnt Kodaikkanal last week has burnt a lot of rare species of trees and forest plants.

The fire has spread over five districts and has burned 30 acres of forest trees in Aiyoor Hosur district.

Also Kodaikkanal, Thenkasi, Yercaud, Meghamalai, Yanaigajam, many parts of Salem district and other parts in Kerala western ghats are on fire.

When Salem district collector Rohini inspected the affected areas she spoke to the media saying that they have put in 30 fire engines initially to control the forest fire.

100 more fire engines will be brought further, to control the forest fire in the district in order to control mass destruction.

Three men arrested for throwing a lighted cigarette in the forest which caused the massive forest fire.

Prasad from Pappireddipatti, Vinodkumar from Omalur and Anbazhagan from Kannankuruchi three were identified as accused.

Forest department has warned, strict actions will be taken against who are involving in unlawful activities in the forest.
