Ganga is further polluted after Namami Gange scheme!

An estimated Rs 20,000 crore has been allocated for the purification of the river Ganga and the quality of the Ganga water has deteriorated further over the past three years.

The central government came up with the Namami Gange scheme to reconstruct and purify the river Ganga.

The project was allocated Rs 20,000 crore for and the government gave special attention to it.

But Sankat Mochan Foundation says the project has failed miserably,

Prime Minister Modi aimed to cleanse the River Ganga by 2019 and Rs 20,000 crore allocated for this project.

In the last three years, water pollution on the Ganga River has increased says the report.

The number of microbial germs in the Ganga River was 4.5 lakh in Nagwa in 2016 and 3.8 crores in Varuna.

According to the report, the number of microbial germs in the Ganga River has risen to crores in Nagwa in 2019 and 14.4 crores in Varuna.

The Ganga River Cleanup Scheme was launched in 2015. This study has revealed that the river Ganga is further polluted after the project was launched.
