Headphones disable hearing; WHO shocking data

When travelling we could see many having a grim face wearing headphones connected to their mobile phones and listen to music.

But the World Health Organisation has given an alert on using headphones with shocking data.

Eleven lakh people from 12-35 of age in India are at high risk of hearing disability because of headphones.

WHO says a human can listen up to 85 decibels for 8 hours and 100 decibels for 15 minutes.

Prolonged exposure to higher decibels might cause permanent damage to the hearing ability.

Since the headphones make 105 decibels of noise and we tend to listen to the music throughout our travel we might damage our ears.

WHO has given data that 50% of the youngsters are exposed to higher decibels for a prolonged period by headphones.

And 40%of youngsters listen to higher decibels for a prolonged period at clubs and concerts.

Though music is the best travelling companion we must reduce the volume to save our ears.
