Modi to inaugurate Chennai - Madurai new train service

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Tejas Express train service from Chennai to Madurai on March 1st.

A Southern Railway official told the Times of India, “Railway officials are requested to get ready for the first run of Chennai-Madurai railway service.

This weekend Prime Minister Narendra Modi is travelling to Kanyakumari. He will start the Tejas Express train service.

Southern Railway is ready for this event. Passengers are very excited to start the service because it is fast enough to travel from Chennai to Madurai”

The train will leave Chennai Egmore at 6 am and reach Madurai in 6 hours and 30 minutes.

The train will stop at Trichy and Kodai road stations. It will departure from Madurai at 3 pm and arrive in Chennai at 9.30 pm.

It is said that the cost of a chair car seat will be up to Rs 1,000. WiFi facility, CCTV cameras, quality upgraded toilet facilities are available on this train.

It is to be noted that the inauguration of the train service has been postponed twice.
