Photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers have been removed from the government websites due to election rules.

The general election to choose the 17th Lok Sabha is from April 11 to May 19.

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora met with reporters in Delhi on March 10 at 5 pm and made the announcement.

Since then, election rules have come into force. Hence, photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi

and Union Ministers have been removed from the government websites due to election rules.

The Election Commission has sent a letter to the Union Cabinet Secretaries and

State Secretaries to ensure that photographs of ministers from all portfolios are removed.

Accordingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo has been removed from the sites including the Prime Minister’s Office and the Press Information Commission.

The Election Commission has advised the central and state governments to take unauthorized wall advertisements, posters and banners in public places within three days.
